Apple iie, with memory expansion, 80 column card, floppy controllers, another card and applecolor monitor plus 4 floppy drives. Maybe karma after someone ripped me off $100 last week on a local buy sell page.
Well, found a proper floppy and she boots from that. Wont find scsi. So either scsi chip is dead if it has a dedicated one, or something else. Too bad, works normal off floppy
Ok, card game today. I did order a full set of floppies but now i am impatient lol.. so, I have an external scsi drive or two laying around. Can i format it on say a se/30, color classic to the correct partition for iigs? I found some bootable images online. Just curious...
All these traces good?? Some look nasty.. i have had iisi boards with all sorts of issues. Usually a trace somewhere, or something not making contact. The rom simm looks like it has reAlly dirty feetz close to the leaky caps and power connector
well, both my high res monitors are done :) that's a lot of recapping for last two days. Did three external scsi drive and apple CD-ROM psu as well...just finished my 540c power supply....
Ok, will have to pull apart again. Wait for it to discharge. There is a couple of bipolar caps. Mouser only had the one type in stock. Other one is a non stocked item. So left it.
Decided to recap the board. Worked fine, smelt fishy lately. Recapped it. Powers on, crt makes the usual noise, screen stays black. Any ideas? I know the psu is fine as I tested that first after recapping it and was fine. Just did other boards todays
I recapped my bondi rev a imac psu. Didn’t realize i had a big cap in backwards, actually it was the wrong size. Turn on and bang!! Smoke everywhere lol.. thought I killed it. Someone was kind enough to let me know the correct value
So, i got this with a mac plus and iifx. Drive didnt work with the plus but with the se it did. I lubed the drive shaft, recapped psu, cleaned internals etc and still only works with the se. I formatted it and installed 6.0.8. Mac plus nothing. Boots of rodime 20 meg just fine
