    SE/30: Invert screen pixels?

There's Reverse Screen by Darin Adler, but it was written in 1986 for System 3.x, suffers from cursor flickering under 6.x, and is totally incompatible with 7.x.

Best games/apps to showcase B&W mac?

MacCommand is a good showcase for 128K and 512K Macs. (It won't run at all on the Plus/SE/Classic families.) An SE/30 or Classic II can be shown off with 3D games like Hellcats, Spectre, Vette, and ZOA that would run slower if at all on a 68000...

eMate 300 not working - "dead"

You're likely already aware of this, but the eMate has a design flaw time bomb where a spring eventually works its way loose and punctures the display cable. It can be fixed by securing the spring with a washer.

Looking for old MacUser / Macuserware cover floppy disks

No leads on MacUserware, but searching extant software compilations for rock/paper/scissors games c. 1989 turns up jan-ken-pon as well as two versions of Paper•Rock•Scissors with completely different graphics. Do any of those screenshots look familiar?

    MacAuthor anyone?

In fact, it seems there were three unrelated MacAuthors in the 1980s: The MacWrite prototype by Encore Systems, c. 1983 The Douglas-Adams-endorsed word processor by Icon Technology of Leicester, England, c. 1986 The courseware development system by EduDisc of Nashville, Tennessee, c. 1987 It's...

    Mac-a-Mug Pro, from Shaherazam (1986-87)

This Pro edition was in fact used professionally, as reported in an August 1987 Macworld News item: However, a 1997 study cast doubt on the software's practicality for catching criminals: "Sixty-two witnesses observed a target person and two days later either verbally described or constructed...

    Anyone have SwitchRes 1?

This directory contains a great many 1.x versions. The earliest, v1.1.1, "will require a Mac with at least Display Manager 2.0 (standard since MacOS 7.6), but MacOS 8 is better. Moreover, it isn't useful unless you have a multisync monitor."

Help with copy protected 400k floppy disk (CAD software for 68k)

This isn't an immediate solution, but it might end up the quickest route to getting the software preserved in usable form: Set DiskDup to tolerate a few bad sectors, and use it to make a disk image of the floppy. This is unlikely to overcome the copy protection, but will otherwise accurately...

    Convert PNG to MacPaint?

There's a free Photoshop plugin that lets you open and save documents in MacPaint format. To save as MacPaint, your image must be in Bitmap mode and fit within the MacPaint canvas of 576 by 720 pixels. If it's smaller than that, it will be saved to the upper left corner of the document.

Good experience with this battery rebuilder

But their FAQ says they can rebuild 95% of all Li-ion, Ni-Cd, and NiMH batteries. Is there something unique about the 1400's battery that would place it in the other 5%?
