MikeatOSX - what damage are you dealing with? Is it cracking near the hinge mounts, or did the stacking cause damage elsewhere?

How many was it? Stacking too many could pressure damage or crack the screen, but it shouldn't cause those stress cracks above the hinge...

It definitely wouldn't hurt to relubricate them. Of the three I've dealt with, two were substantially stiffer than the third. It doesn't...

The 1400cs and 1400c rear display housing should be the same part. Keep in mind though that your intact housing will form the exact same...

I'm pretty sure that isn't a Sharp. There's a small, small chance that it's the rare Hosiden panel, but it's probably a Toshiba.

Did you verify that it also had the Toshiba display in it? If it isn't that panel than it won't swap.

That definitely appeared to be an active matrix screen. If it's a 540c, it almost certainly is. Someone COULD have swapped a 520c panel...

Membrane keyboards are extremely difficult to repair, if possible at all. I'd recommend just waiting for a keyboard to show up, I'm sure...
