Macuserman's Junk Collection

Trash80toHP_Mini

NIGHT STALKER
Cheap hobby, far less expensive than an addiction to that incredibly silly, non-sport game involving expensive sticks and ludicrous, overpriced attire.

Anybody here do ski weekends? I rest my case. :p

edit: we learn a lot of useless crap along with useful knowledge, valuable experience and skills while expanding the gray matter envelope.

the trick is to get some shelves to put things on, then you can have multiple times as much in the to do pile for the same floor area and also it looks more intentional
Haha this is definitely an addict helping addicts response lol. I won't post a picture of my pile it's much to large. I also really need to work on only starting one project at a time I think that would help me considerably, instead of being distracted by shiney new projects.

I ran out of room for machines ages ago so I stick to projects like cards that will go into something, and I don't need to stack them.

Scored this beauty just the other day it hasn't even come in the mail yet. I've been after one of these for ages so was extremely tickled to see this one pop up for sale.

One of the last pieces needed to complete my ultimate B&W G3 build.

End Game machine was almost acquired today (still need to actually have it shipped here). I've been waiting for one of these to come up for years. Sorry if someone here was bidding against me but you had no chance, I was willing to go much much higher for this beauty. I can't wait to play with this bad boy.

@macuserman Wow. Sonnet PPC upgrade and GX video card. Going by eBay prices, those alone are worth the price of the computer. It's like you got a free Radius 81. :)

I know it's just an 8100 clone, but the wavy plastic bit along the side makes all the difference in the world. Just makes it look nicer.

Yeah I don't know much about those GX cards to be honest I find the information around nubus cards to be tricky, I wish there was just a overall ranking list somewhere, the Sonnet is just a base model probably 200-250mhz, I'd have bought it regardless but I'm not complaining about them being there.

It's a great-looking case, plus most of it is metal and access is quite easy comparatively. I wish that they made a zip bezel for these, or I could find someone to 3D print one but otherwise, it's perfection.

I believe the SuperMac Thunder GX is a rebranded Radius Thunder GX, but it lacks 16 color mode on the 1600 version, which is why I ended up selling mine. So it's a well-documented, top-tier video card with easy-to-find drivers.

The SuperMac Thunder GX is the early version. The Radius card is the rebranded version. Radius bought SuperMac's video card line in the '90s.

A beauty!

@macuserman any interest in having the Radius 8100/110 manual? I know some folks don’t much care but I like to pick manuals up off eBay for the systems I have when they are cheap enough, I do have several manuals without machines (one day a Quadra 950 might fall into my lap!)

The only clone I have is a Umax SuperMac c500, but I have these clone manuals:

I‘d just as well keep it in my collection but if you’d like it it also seems nice to reunite it with it’s hardware that I likely will never obtain myself!

Oh that’s neat! Yeah if your willing to part with it the manual would be neat to have.
