RaSCSI Development Thread

I've got a few (normal, V2) boards I'm assembling in the UK. I can look into what I'd need to do to ship to the EU - I'm not sure how badly shafted I am as a result of a grossly misinformed vote in 2016, though. I'll take a look and send you a DM :)
That would be great! Thanks

I don’t but I should probably set one up 😅

At the very least I’ll make a FS/FT post soon! Whilst making the board up for Andrew (which I got fully assembled and programmed this evening, testing with the SE/30 and G4 tomorrow!) I realised that I’m a bit short on some of the components to make the others up, so I need to put in another order to Farnell or RS. If I can gather enough interest to make up all of the PCBs I have here I will. And then perhaps I’ll order some more if there’s demand!

By the sounds of it, there could well be 😊

depending on the price you decide on
Should be £40 plus postage. This will depend on how cheaply I can get the microcontrollers and ENC chips going forwards, though - some of my usual suppliers are struggling at the moment.

I apologise profusely for the mistake I've made here - I somehow crossed threads and realise that I've posted in the wrong one. In my defence, clearly nobody else has noticed yet either! I do realise the difference between the two, and recognise the technical excellence of both designs, and merit of each for their own use cases.

For clarity, I am talking about Scuznet boards, not RaSCSI - and I'll go back to the proper thread now! 😖

Hello all,

are there buying options for EU (Greece)?

Tindie does not support it.

Thanks
I've been off 68kmla for a while... so, sorry for the delay!

I've been working with a guy in Germany who is offering RaSCSIs. He can probably ship it to you for a lot less than I can: https://samplerspa.de/

If you do want one from Tindie, I can add greece as an option! I just need to manually add each country.

Thanks for your reply. The german shop lists it as pre-order only. Do you think it will be faster from germany or from tindie?

Thanks

The german guy and I are working together, so we'll have them in stock at the same time.

I will have some kits on Tindie in the next few days. Shipping will be a killer though if you're in the EU.

Our supplier for the assembled boards hasn't been the greatest at meeting their deadlines, but they claim that we should have them in 3-4 weeks.

We weren't expecting the huge rush on these with the Youtube videos. But, we're doing the best we can to make more available!

When I saw Action Retro’s video, I had just been debating SCSI2SD and sat down to watch. Decided to sleep on going RaSCSI. By then, sold out, so waiting list ftw 😋.

Glad you’ve seen so much interest though!

Eeyy, they're back in stock! Just bought mine; looks like only five are left now. These must have gone stupid fast.

When i cold boot my Mac SE/30 with the RaSCSI connected and powered on, mouse and keyboard don't respond (Mac boots normally to desktop but mouse nor keyboard respond). When i start the machine with the RaSCSI turned off everything is normal. When i then power on the RaSCSI and restart the Mac it boots normally and everything works (mouse, keyboard and RaSCSI).

Anyone else had this issue? This machine has 64MB of RAM and the Mac ROM-inator II from BMOW.

RaSCSI drive and Dayna SCSI/Link. Works great! This is connected to my IIfx file server over Localtalk (printer port) and my 68k Netatalk share on my WD NAS at the same time with no issues. Netscape 3.04 works too (just barely). Using a RasPi 2.

I'd be very curious to learn from your experience setting up Netatalk recently! Recently I'm helping out with the RaSCSI project, and am looking into scripting Netatalk setup as part of easyinstall.sh. I've gotten it to work quite well with AFP over TCP, but stuck on AFP over DDP for older systems.
Started putting some basic documentation together in RaSCSI wiki.

I guess my first question is, have you gotten Netatalk to work with DDP / AppleTalk on a modern Linux distro?

FYI: RaSCSI release 21.10 is now available on Github!

It also includes a pre-built SD card image with everything configured! (Based on Raspberry Pi OS Lite)

Does WLAN support mean you can use Pi’s wifi? Have you tried transferring AppleShare over AppleTalk? I had some issues with Scuznet AppleShare over AppleTalk over wifi but never went back to try to sort it out.
