I assume you do know the song “Down Under” “by “Men at Work” fronted by “Colin Hay”?

Although I always chuckle at that because Colin Hay, their lead singer, is actually Scottish!

Out of fairness, though, he did emigrate to Australia with his family when he was 14, so even though he wasn't born there, he can properly claim to be Australian because he's a citizen, presumably.

Funny how that happens.. I think I only know it because of VH1s Pop Up Video which mentioned something about it in its ‘trivia’.
I’ve managed to find a replacement bezel for my Quadra 840av, finally making an almost complete machine! Just need to get one of those ATX adapter boards that @croissantking made!
I can put a V1.0 one in the post if you want, I have 4 PCBs I don’t need … it needs a couple of bodges so you may prefer to do your own run when I upload the V1.1 gerbers
Also since when did you acquire an 840AV?
Oh that would be lovely! I’ve got about 5 power supplies to replace (Two Quadra 800, One 840av, and Two 8100s) so that would be a great starting place! I’ll do the others on a v1.1
Oh I got it ages ago.. amazingly no cap damage, a simple recap got it working.. except of course the PSU. I tried selling it for parts originally but no one was interested so when this bezel turned up on a battery bombed 8100 it was the perfect opportunity to build a complete and near pristine condition unit!
What PSU does the Quadra 800 use? The motherboard connector for Q800 is the older IIcx style 10-pin. 840AV and 8100 use 22-pin. But the PSU has a detachable harness so maybe it just uses the same PSU with a different harness.

This looks like 2.0? Interesting that the New York city skyline (complete with the Twin Towers and a giant Mac SE) is the inspiration for Starry Night.
I'm not sure. Nowhere on the box does it say the version number but the screenshots on the back look like v2, but then I don't really remember what v1 looked like.
And yeah I always assumed it was loosely based on the NYC skyline. It's a massive nostalgia hit for me as I remember the man who got me into computing in the first place had a Iici and a Portrait Display which he had the starry night screensaver on. I loved that machine.. made my Plus look so pathetic.
