Color Dark Castle

I love buying old software too, however it’s for the packaging now.

Unfortunately most disks are now beyond reading or repair so if you get lucky upload to Macintosh garden for your legacy.

P.s I managed to score Mac populous for the box, love it

Syndicate! I loved that game - I have a boxed copy too but looks different? Would you mind showing a photo of the front of yours? I am always curious about all of the variants of mac software . . .

Yes! Snagged Color Dark Castle off eBay. Maybe I paid too much, but I've been looking for this one for a long time. I have the manual for the game, but no disks. Which is fine cuz almost all of Delta Tao's games shipped with just the manual and disks shrinkwrapped.

I'm curious about the 2 B&W disks. If they're just copies, someone went out of their way with those labels. I'm kinda hoping they're update disks. Either way, I can't wait. :)
What if I tell you that I've got a japanese boxed version of CDC ? :)
Unfortunately, it did not come with the B&W floppies. :(

Do you want some scans ?

@zefrenchtoon Wow, that's pretty cool. Is the game itself in Japanese?

I'm sure it'd be great to put the scans up on Macintosh Garden.
It seems that the dialog boxes are translated in Japanese from what I can see in the manual. I did not yet tested it on my Mac.
The box itself is quite strange for me, it’s like a VHS tape box. So the scan will be quite easy as it is simply an insert in the plastic box.

Will scan and share asap. 🙂

I think a lot of Japanese games are packaged that way, especially Sharp and MSX games.

I really like that alternate artwork on the front cover. Would love a scan when you get around to it just to recreate it pixel-for-pixel.

Hmm... first one published by Senko and the second by Delta Tao. This led me down a rabbit hole to generate this:

Did I miss anything? I bought the original Dark Castle and Beyond Dark Castle directly from Silicon Beach Software (they mailed me the disks), and didn't realize they were available in other flavours / for other platforms for years....
