MacMovies was the first video playing software for Macs introduced in 1985 by MacroMind (later Macromedia) along with VideoWorks.

MacMovies was the free player part of VideoWorks which would combine MacPaint files into a slideshow where you could set the frame rate to be as much as 30 FPS.
