Macintosh IIfx Cpacitor Info

Just think, having a Quadra 950 in 1992 would be like having a Mac Pro today… except with more slots, more expandability, and on-board SCSI!

Macintosh IIfx Cpacitor Info

Postby CC_333 » 22 Mar 2012, 22:37

Hi,

The two electrolytic capacitors on my new-to-me Mac IIfx fell off while I was cleaning it of electrolyte, and I replaced one of them, but one of the pads for capacitor C24 is pretty much destroyed (the traces are still intact as far as I can tell).

I just wanted to know if anyone has documented which capacitors connect to what and what they are for (in the same way that the SE/30 is documented. For example, Mk.558's charts here: http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17775) so I can rework the now-missing pad.

I haven't gotten to use it yet (it's waiting for a video card). However, it seems to be in working order once it's on (it chimes, and attempts to boot from its disk drive), so I think this is the only problem.

Thank you!

I guess nobody knows?

Anyway, I will try tackling it myself, carefully, when I get some time. Perhaps I can try Googling, Yahoo-ing, and Bing-ing around for some schematics and stuff (I accidentally found the Apple Macintosh II/IIx/IIfx Service Source PDF the other day, so the schematics must be out there somewhere...)

Everyone feel free to chime in!
