The PPC comes of age and adopts the industry standard expansion slot.

5500 stuck at 640x480

Hi Everyone,
I think my 5500 is on the path to death. The CRT squeals and its stuck on a resolution of 640x480.

I tried a PRAM reset and that did not fix it.

I would suggest checking the analog board for any leaking caps, or cold solder joints.

And the flyback!

What happens when you attempt a different resolution?
Lost all the Macs to Hurricane Sandy.

The '90's didn't end with New Year's 2000. They ended with the release of 9.2.2.
