Not really 68k Macs, but certainly Vintage!

Is this an Apple II joystick?

Postby olePigeon » 27 May 2011, 20:31

I'm having a hard time judging if this is an Apple II joystick. It looks like a 9 pin connector. After doing some research I discovered that the Atari Joyport is also 9 pins, but it's female. This one is male. The PC joystick connector is 15 pins. My guess is that this is for Apple II.

Sorry, no better pictures, and the person selling it has absolutely no clue about computers.

I'd say yes. Looks like it has two buttons too.

There's another thread started on this topic elsewhere. Anyway, looking at the connector, it's too wide for a 9-pin. It looks like a 15-pin joystick port for a PC.

David is right, that joystick is an IBM joystick. I can say that because the picture of the plug on that joystick looks exactly like the IBM plug on the joystick I have, which has both an Apple II plug and an IBM plug.
