LCGuy wrote:Axis StorPoint...just out of curiousity, does it have SCSI or ethernet ports? I'm guessing its some sort of CD "jukebox" type thing that most likely would have been used to make CDs available over a network back in the day. When I was in high school I remember they had a CD server that had something like 12 CD-ROM drives that was loaded with various educational CDs which were available over the school network.
coius wrote:one of our members (and a close personal friend) might be interested in that 8500 PSU. I went with him to pickup an 8600 and I think the 8500 PSU might work in it if I am thinking right. either that, if you have an 8600 PSU that you could size/find he would probably be interested in that.
coius wrote:Exactly what I was thinking. If it's SCSI, it most likely would've come with an Ultra SCSI PCI card with possibly 4-bit SCSI Addressing (16 SCSI devices including the card) to handle the 7 CD drives plus may another set (would have to be 5 or 6 max I think).
So that's interesting. I thought it might be a CD duplicator, but the Network thing probably sounds a bit more likely.
I'd use 'em - at the end of the day these things were made to be used

macman142- Do any of those LC630 logic boards house full 040 CPU's?

stack of logic boards in Apple Service boxes for LCIII's, LC475, PowerMac 6x00, 7x00, 8x00 and 9x00
He still had a whole heap of stuff he wasn't ready to get rid of, loads of compacts, PowerBooks, iMac G3's and I spotted TWO Lisa's.
Does the port on the Compacts look like this?
