LC PDS DOS Card?

Postby PackingTape » 25 Jul 2012, 17:46

Is there such a thing, for the original LC PDS? Just curious. The only LC PDS cards I know of are video, sound, Ethernet, Apple II, and accelerators, but a DOS card would be really cool. Also, how rare are LC PDS video cards that do 1024x768 or better. According to the wiki, there's one (Spectrum8/LC) that does 1152x882!

I don't know if there was one or not. But it'd have to be really energy efficient for the LC. The Q630 uses one that takes up the LC3 Slot and the CPU Socket.

That I am aware of, nothing was ever made. As for video cards, I think there's one on ebay right now.

You could run SoftPC on an LC, that's what I ran on my 8MB PB100's 16MHz 68000.

Same bus speed and and data width as the PB100 . . .
. . . the instruction set/speed bump(?) of the newer 68020 proc . . .
. . . a 25% bump in RAM address space . . .
. . . with color ROMs thrown in as a nice extra, enabling GS output to a Portrait Monitor!

Dunno, might be interesting to try with mine.

You might also want to check out the Micron Xceed Color Fusion as far as the graphics card part goes.
Accelerated 24bit up to 823*624 and still 16bit at 1152*870. I got one of those and it really is a pleasure to use over any LC onboard video.
