Firewire SD card reader DIY

Firewire SD card reader DIY:

Despite the speed increase depends on several factors, is easy to obtain 3X (or even more) compared to USB 1.1.
Just put a IDE SD Card reader into a Firewire/IDE enclosure ;)
I'd tried out inside a computer, connected directly to IDE cable, despite the speed is even better, I'd have problems whith ISO formatted cards.

As my English is very bad, and a picture worth more than 1000 words:

Neat! Is it bus-powered, too?

No. But can be done. Just using a bus-powered enclosure.

A 2.5 FireWire/IDE bus-powered enclosure, and a 2.5 IDE SD Card Reader can be also combined as an better alternative.
