Lido worked perfectly, thanks Beachycove! In fact, that's become my go-to formatter tool. I've used it on a few computers, from a Mac Portable (6.0.
up to a PowerBook 5300 (7.5.5) and it's great.
Register: I can't seem to be able to log in to the Wiki, but I'm using a Stratos CF PowerMonster Mk II in the PB 170 with a 2GB Transcend 133x CF card, formatted with Lido, under 7.5.5.
I also have another PowerMonster in a generic external SCSI 2.5" enclosure with a 2GB Transcend card of the same type, and I've used it to lug data between my Macs: it worked on everything I threw at it, which so far includes:
- Color Classic
- Mac Portable
- Powerbook 170
- Powerbook 5300
An AztecMonster (with another Transcend card of the same type) is now the internal HD of a Color Classic, also formatted with Lido. (After booting off the above external device.) Here the only tricky part was fastening the AztecMonster to the Color Classic's HD sled as the AztecMonster expects smaller, shorter, more modern drive screws than the screw-wise seemingly proprietary older HD used. I just glued the SCSI device to the sled semi-permanently with four dollops of silicone sealant. Seems great so far.
