Who says we're not using them?
That IIfx I snagged is my ProTools rig.
The SE/30 is a print server.
I've got an old 6100 doing duty as a voicemail/caller ID device, firewall and router.
Hell - this is poor man's multitasking we're talking about!
Are you playing devil's advocate here or just trolling?
Don't begrudge an old man his fun.
Either enlist and liberate or -
go render or something on your dualie G4 :P

It goes something like:

You - "Hey, how 'bout lettin' me have that 68K Mac"

Them - "We don't use them anymore...no."

You - "What!? Hey, is that an F14 Falcon?"

Them - "Where!?"

You, while there backs are turned, run away with Mac

No, I find them at Computer dealers, they always seem to have old Macs people tradded in sitting in corners, sometimes you just happen upon them (I found my SE/30 in a *gasp*burn pit!

No problem.

So who's working on the website? We need to register www.68KMLA.mil or something.

I've only liberated one Mac. A nice little Classic. If somebody had a lot of time on their hands they could make this into an online MUG.

I could work on a website...I'll start working on a prototype index page and post the address later tonight or tomorrow...

I made a prototype index page (the main navigation hasn't even been made into an image map yet!). I even took the initiative to register "mla68k" for an iTools account..."mla" and "68kmla" were already taken

http://homepage.mac.com/mla68k

Keep in mind that this is only a protoype...if you think you can do any better (which is likely) feel free to make your own and show it to us...

Pretty cool website, it has alot of potential, but be kind to people with slow computers and slow modems, after all, we are liberating old 68K Macs! Swing by www.mac512.com for some ideas (BTW, the text only version for older computers is Here)

Hey, this is probably one of the few topics thats grown this big!

Cool website, but do the links work? I tried but couldn't seem to get it.

Who took the 68kmla address?

I've enlisted too.

As well as a Performa450, Quadra630, Classic and Centris610 I've also liberated a 6100/60 and a LaserWriter Pro630 (from a skip).

If you've carefully read the my posts you'll see this is merely a test prototype. The navigation hasn't yet been made into an image map with working links.

And, unfortunately, i don't know who took 68kmla...
