    Pismo power oddities?

Thanks for the reply! I have tried a jo-jo adapter, an aftermarket eBay power brick for the G3 powerbooks and a PB1400 adapter, and the symptoms do not change, leading me to believe that the issue is not coming from voltage instability from the power bricks. I will check the DC-in board for...

    Pismo power oddities?

Got a quite nice Pismo not so long ago, in overall great condition but missing its case screws and the RF-shield. I managed to source the parts and put it together, also upgrading the RAM to max and installing an SSD. It boots fine and mostly works fine (OS 9.2.2), but here is where the oddities...

Miro Rainbow GX PDS graphic card

No, basically same as you. I have tried some of the extensions in the zip file, but no luck. My Quadra 950 was not wiped when I bough it - had a lot of previous owner data on it (from 1995 to 2001!!) - but nothing related to the card. So it seems that the previous owner did not even use it. Oh...

Miro Rainbow GX PDS graphic card

Hi there, Did you manage to get it to work? I also have a Rainbow Q card (version 1.7, dated Sept 01.1993). Please share if you manage to get a picture out of it. Thank you! -- Z

Shiva FastPath 5 - mainboard voltage

Wow, thanks for that! :) I now have it up and running with a PS outputting 15VAC and connected to the mainboard directly. Thank you everyone for the help!

    Vintage Mac browsing with theoldnet.com

Something that can be worth a try: https://github.com/ttalvitie/browservice  This supposedly works similar to WRP, but a bit more sophisticated and for more "modern" machines. If you have a Pi or similar in the middle, this could be a good option.

Shiva FastPath 5 - mainboard voltage

Thank you for the help - and for the good suggestion! :)   I do not feel comfortable rewiring it on my own, so I might just do what mactjaap says and get a step down converter, and change the output socket of that to the euro-plug to use a euro-powerlead. Think that will be the easiest...

Shiva FastPath 5 - mainboard voltage

Hi guys, sorry for being away for some time. I have now taken more pictures of the transformer and the jumper +cables. Hopefully you can make something out ::)  ?

Shiva FastPath 5 - mainboard voltage

Yes, it is quite a convenience, IF I would have the power to run it :) . I would not mind the extra dongle really, as it would live in my network cupboard next to a Ethernet router.  I have tried to find something that would work, that would convert the voltage but still retain the euro-plug...

Shiva FastPath 5 - mainboard voltage

Hi, Should have taken my own pictures from the start - please find them attached now of the PS and the board. It is only 2 wires going from the power supply to the board. So I am guessing that there is a single input voltage, that gets broken down by the boards itself if needed.

Shiva FastPath 5 - mainboard voltage

Hi Guys, I have a Shiva FastPath 5 that I bought cheap on eBay a while ago from a seller in the US and imported it to Europe. I almost connected it to try it out, when I read the sticker on the back saying 120V 50/60 Hz. Disaster avoided... but also no vintage mac TCP/IP :( I opened it up...

    MacBottom HD/Modem Modernization

Really nice mod :)  ! What serial cable do you use, and more importantly, where did you get it? I was interested to try out the GuruModem myself, but did not really find any good info on the serial cable/adapter needed. Thank you in advance!

Converting the video signal from a Mac Classic logic board?

Thank you all so far :) The impression I now have is that i should forget about the composite video output, and instead try to convert an existing monitor for use with the Classics logic board. This does not only require a special monitor, or some experience of fiddeling with an existing one...

Converting the video signal from a Mac Classic logic board?

Thnx, for your reply! I figured that it would be something like that, but sadly I'm not a electronics designer, so I'm not really good at designing circuits :) Soldering is all I do ;) Would be appreciated if you could find some more info on the circuit you used, or could draw me a...

Converting the video signal from a Mac Classic logic board?

Hello everybody! I have a Macintosh Classic with a dead powerboard, and I'm not going to go thru the trouble of fixing it, instead, I was wondering if it is possible to convert the TTL signal (HSYNC, VSYNC, VidOUT) to a standard composite video (for connection to a television) or to a standard...
