30Video: New video board for SE/30 / IIsi / more?

Any updates on if/when these will be available? Understand it's been a dire few months for small-scale electronics manufacturing, but would be interested in one if you're able to make them.

Design review: Analogous Board for SE and SE/30

Any additional updates on this project? I've got an idea that would benefit from this approach; basically, I'm looking to set up a Mac SE board as a server, wiring the VGA output from this board into an existing server cabinet KVM setup, and then using the Retro Apple Mods display as a crash...

Tech by Androda Comm slot ethernet card

From the Tinker Different thread, it appears the problem is that the driver itself won't work with certain MAC addresses. Their solution was to give three known-good options.

Tech by Androda Comm slot ethernet card

I lack any Commslot II Macs but I do think these are a nice option, especially compared to used options. The 3 MAC limitation is frustrating, though, and I hope they're looking to solve it going forward. While I suspect collisions will be rare it's a meaningful flaw in an otherwise useful product.

30Video: New video board for SE/30 / IIsi / more?

Having a raised Ethernet jack helps a lot, too. My Maccon usually requires a credit card to remove the cable but my Bolle riser has the RJ-45 port level with the back of the case.

30Video: New video board for SE/30 / IIsi / more?

Oh yeah, that seems much more optimal than the software approach. Great to have a good internal option for driving a LCD, too! Not to hop on my hobby horse here, but does having the CPLD in the mix make it easier to implement Swivelview? I know the blocker with the original cards was the...

30Video: New video board for SE/30 / IIsi / more?

Really cool! What's the difference here that allows for 16-bit color? Are there any other potential implications of the hardware changes?

Hootswitch, a (work-in-progress) Apple Desktop Bus switch

ZMK (https://zmk.dev/) ran into a similar problem and ended up adopting MIT. That doesn't keep derivatives from going closed-source, but if there's any conversations about their decision-making it might be useful reading.

Cable Specs for Mac LC III PSU?

I have a Mac LC III where one of the metal contacts inside the connector corroded away. Does anyone know what the appropriate replacement is? The PSU is otherwise in good shape and I'd rather replace a single contact (or wire in the harness) instead of going with a PicoPSU.

Various Questions on Mac Serial and PPP

All good information, thank you! Sounds like I'll need to do some experimentation (which is half the fun, anyway).

Various Questions on Mac Serial and PPP

Thanks, all! This is very helpful. Sounds like speeds won't be anything to write home about, but I expected that. It sounds like we're looking at a bit worse than DaynaPort emulation, which feels like enough to make it worth pursuing if not a substitute for Ethernet. @NJRoadfan, I'll definately...

Various Questions on Mac Serial and PPP

I'm thinking through a project on Digi's Portserver line; specifically, I'd like to document how to use them as serial network switches (of sorts) for computers without Ethernet. In the Mac context I'd be direct-wiring machines to the Portserver over serial connections and using the Portserver's...

Apple Ethernet Workgroup Hub - Cables Needed?

Glad you're enjoying it! Was hoping someone would put it to use; it was just sitting in a box in my storage room.

Integrated Tashtari Machine: Floppy Drive Emulator

I do like that idea! I don't know if this is a common situation, but I have a SE/30 on my desk and often want to move files between it and my Mac Studio. I think the workflow you're describing would fit my needs better since I could just keep the tether between the machines permanently connected...

SE/30 - Design for Drop in Replacement Power Supply

Same here; full setup is a Carrera, Bolle riser, 30Video GS, and ZuluSCSI Pico. Everything's working fine.

30Video: New video board for SE/30 / IIsi / more?

1024x768 is really cool! Glad you were able to get it working. How does 54Hz look? Out of curiosity, did you test 960x540 with a scaler? I'd be interested to see if that can force it to work on a generic monitor. At the very least I've got a couple of GBS Control boards I could use to test it...

    A/UX not launching on IIsi

You can also do a folder full of images with an name like "CD[x]" (where [x] is whatever SCSI ID you want the drive to be at). The BlueSCSI (or ZuluSCSI) will mount the first image alphabetically on bootup and then subsequent images as you eject the previous one. Either approach works fine, but...

Comparison of SCSI2SD v5.0b and BlueSCSI v2 on Centris 650

As @Compgeke said, I do think it would be interesting to see more benchmarks of all the competing SCSI solutions, including the very expensive industrial ones. I do wonder if those solutions perform meaningfully better; are you getting anything for your money other than a service contract? (I...

Even less of an expert than you, but the QMK keyboard firmware sounds like it has a somewhat similar structure to what you want, albeit on a very large scale.
