    Netatalk 2.3.0 available

    I noticed there's a phat list of desired packages: autoconf automake docbook-xsl libacl1-dev libavahi-client-dev libcrack2-dev libcups2-dev libdb-dev libgcrypt-dev libkrb5-dev libldap2-dev libltdl-dev libpam0g-dev libssl-dev libtirpc-dev libtool libtool-bin libwrap0-dev quota tcpd I'm very...

    PowerBook 3400c on 8.6 + netatalk - Chooser "error of type 12"

The only use case for Netatalk 3 at the moment that comes to mind (I could be seriously mistaken) is if you need Time Machine support. Since Time Machine now uses APFS, which cannot be shared via AFP, then yeah there's almost zero reasons to use Netatalk 3.

    Have se/30 on internet—now what?

    Gopher.

Can someone with a real 68k test if Realmz has a bug or both Basilisk II and QEMU have the same bug?

I can check too as long as it's relatively simple to get to and not a 4 hour slog through a game I never played :)

    Choosier 1.01b2?

I tried looking too, and came up empty. http://discmaster.textfiles.com/ This site was apparently the source for the EasyShare full version breakthrough.

    PowerBook 3400c on 8.6 + netatalk - Chooser "error of type 12"

I wouldn't use Netatalk 3 for any reason unless you're specifically looking for Time Machine stuff. You should use Netatalk 2.3.2, assuming it's a modern distribution of Linux. What's probably happening is that Netatalk 3 is looking for DHX2 authentication but the best you can get with ASC...

LC II PDS Ethernet to iMac G4

Update is still in the works, should be done sometime end of summer maybe end of year. Notably the Chart is at least 50% more accurate this time. Today's work: A/UX 2.0.0 to Netatalk VM file server.
  8. Mk.558

LC II PDS Ethernet to iMac G4

There should be nothing wrong with the LC card. MacTCP is used for TCP connections (i.e. FTP, Telnet, SSH, ...) and unless AFP over TCP is used, then MacTCP has nothing to do with AppleTalk. Generally the only time MacTCP does anything via AppleTalk is via MacIP, which requires a MacIP server...

    SE/30 random reboots, then nothing?

I've got the same thing going on with mine. https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/3d-printed-programmers-switches-random-se-30-reboots.47160/ I've got some old solder in the usual places like below the RAM banks, and some fuzzy solder in some other areas, but nothing like near your sound...

3D printed programmers switches; Random SE/30 reboots

Repeated RAM tests pass, no indication of bodgy RAM. ... It has been fussy about RAM disks before though, but in a weird way: if a RAM disk was open, Disk Copy 6.3.3 would bomb the system. The reboots are random, even while during start up sequence.

3D printed programmers switches; Random SE/30 reboots

I'm getting random reboots on my SE/30. The power supply has been fully recapped, the motherboard was recapped some time ago, the ROM SIMM has had the contacts reflowed yesterday so now it actually boots. Power supply voltages are fine. No visibly damaged traces or anything abnormal. Any...

Anyone have a copy of "AppleTalk Phase 2 Protocol Specification" (C0144LL/A)?

Bet you some guy on VCF has one. Might be single digit copies of that worldwide: that's a very specific thing to ask the ol' Dogcow building boys for.

Anyone have a copy of "AppleTalk Phase 2 Protocol Specification" (C0144LL/A)?

Not as far as I can tell. https://archive.org/details/Mac_SpInside_Mac_May92_Text There was someone on VCF advertising one, but that was in 2009. sadge

Experimental Netatalk 2 on macOS with AppleTalk

True, but the system connectivity limitations remained the same. 10.4 Tiger and 10.4 Tiger Server still have the same requirement for AFP over TCP, unless it's a printer.
  15. Mk.558

Experimental Netatalk 2 on macOS with AppleTalk

Looks good! Tell me though. What version of Mac OS X/macOS would this have compatibility with? 10.4 Tiger compatibility is probably a long shot, but since many of us still have PPC OS X boxes, it would be nice to have that. Also I have a Intel mac mini that cannot go beyond 10.15, so...it's...
