They are mostly small little hooks and threads but I snapped a huge chunk of the rotation disk. That could have been avoided but the other stuff was just a side effect of taking it apart. Fortunately its hidden when I have it perfectly centered. I probably will try to glue stuff back at some...
I actually managed to figure it out. It's pretty straight forward. HOWEVER, I broke about 1000 pieces of plastic in the process. I'm pretty sure its the same plastic as a 6200CD. I have it literally taped together as well as plastic knives jammed in the angle department to keep it angled up...
So I have an 800k floppy drive from an SE that has been cleaned and lubed. From my experience, 400k disks work fine but 800k disks do not work about 70% of the time. When the disk is inserted I get the error that the disk is "damaged". So this leads me to believe that whatever triggers the drive...
Update: I just learned about connecting pin 9 and 10 on the power supply to check if it is working and I heard the click. So I am pretty sure that rules out it being a fault with the power supply
Update 2: I tested the chip that receives the button presses and while the machine is off it holds...
Yeah, I might go back through and double check that all the values are right, and then replace whichever caps aren't exact. Perhaps Console5 made an error. As for the daughter board and damage, none of the caps on either the daughter board or main board had leaked. That being said I still...
I recapped the daughter board and cleaned it as well as I can (tooth brush and IPA) but the caps did not leak. None of the caps had leaked on the daughter board or the main board..
Okay so the power supply was working before I recapped it. Then I recapped it and it was working again until it wasn't. Sometimes it wouldn't boot up. Pressing the power button would do nothing. Then when it does boot up it will work for a bit but then switch off. I used the console5 recap kit...
I want to try and take this thing apart to fix the picture issue, but I have no idea how to start. I was wondering if anyone had instructions on how to disassembly these.
Hello,
I just replaced the C38 RIFA cap on my 512K analog board. This is the replacement I got https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/kemet/PME271M610MR04/9685182
When I put the machine back together and turned it on, the only video I got was a flashing blip in the middle of the screen...
I just got a Radius Pivot Precision Color 0356 and the picture is very pink. Is there anyway to adjust the color? I can't seem to find any sort of menu. I don't have the card so I do not know if that is required.
I have an external 800k floppy drive that was not ejecting. It was not a problem with the gears, rather the motor was not running at all. So I figured it was a bad motor. To test this I took a good motor (the identical Omron R2DG-31) and put it in and the motor was still not turning. Anyone know...
I've got a Macintosh Plus with some cracked solder joints on J4 on the analog board. I repaired two and tested it but that wasn't enough. When I opened it back up I realized there were a few others I didn't get. Per this website https://www.jagshouse.com/ classicrepair.html my fly back doesn't...
It’s finder version 1.1 so maybe that’s the problem. Maybe I’ll make a system 2 disk and try that. If that doesn’t work I think I’ll try excel 1.5 since maybe the super early version is just unstable.
I have been trying to launch excel on my 512k but repeatedly get error ID=03. Anyone know a solution? I'm using the 1.03 image on the Garden. I wrote it using a Molar Mac and I've written other programs that work so I do not think that is the problem but I don't know.
Edit: The Mac has an 800k...
